Bean Bags

Posted on: August 18, 2011

At its simplest, a bean bag is a piece of fabric sewn up and filled with dried beans, plastic pellets, or styrofoam. Small bean bags can be used as toys, while large bean bags make comfortable casual furniture.

Bean bags are often used in many toys because they are safe for children to use. Bean bags are inserted into the abdomens of stuffed animals to allow them to sit and be posed. Beanie Babies are arguably the most popular bean bag toys ever created.

A variety of bean bag toss games have been developed that require kids to toss a bean bag onto a target or a through a ring. These games can help children develop hand-eye coordination. Bean bags are often used for juggling because of their weight and size. The Hacky Sack is a bean bag toy developed in the 1970s that requires players to use their feet to keep the Hacky Sack from touching the ground.

Bean bag chairs gained popularity in the late 1960s as casual mod furniture, and the comfortable style has remained popular with kids since then. Recent re-issues of classic bean bag chair designs have kept the style fresh and popular.http://sacco.zanotta.it/Sacco_EN.htmlhttp://www.slackbeanbags.com/slackwebv2index4.html
